I have had a few questions on my matting and framing of my artwork.
First off every image is matted and framed using the best of archival materials. I print , mat and frame everything myself here in my Santa Fe studio with the utmost in care and quality. Prints are made on the best papers available with the best printers available on Pigmented ink which will last many, many generations.
My matting is simple but beautiful. My small pieces up to 18×24″ in size are over matted with my signature and print name on the bottom corners of the mat board. The colors I use are white, black, dark brown, blue, tan and dark grey. This covers every print I produce beautifully. Please specify matting preference when ordering. If you don’t I will mat it in the best mat for the artwork.
My matted prints larger than 18×24″ are reveal matted with a 1/2″ reveal around three sides and a 1″ reveal at the bottom at the title and signature. I have included samples of my large print matting and color combinations. The combinations are white on white, Black on Black with a slight variation in black mat boards, Grey on Grey with a slight variation of grey tones, Light tan and a darker tan on my Monochrome Palladium/sepia toned prints as shown. Framing is Neilson 117 moulding in Anodic Black, Graphite, Frosted Walnut, White. These simple but elegant combinations make up my framed artwork. Images of the framing are included with this post.
Please specify your mat board colors when ordering. If not I will mat the artwork in the best combination for the art.
